What currency does Switzerland use
Switzerland – where the Swiss franc reigns supreme! While some places accept euros, you don’t want to be caught without some Swiss francs in your pocket. Not only is it the official currency, but it’s also the currency of choice for many smaller shops and market stalls.
Sure, you can try to use your euros, but you’ll likely end up with a less-than-favorable exchange rate that will put a damper on your souvenir-buying spree. Plus, shop owners are taking a risk by accepting euros, so don’t be surprised if they ask for payment in Swiss francs only. But don’t worry, if you forget to exchange some cash, many places do accept cards. Just make sure you have some francs on hand for that irresistible piece of chocolate at the Lucerne Christmas markets.
