Of all the resort towns that line southern Spain’s shorelines none is more famous than Marbella! Think of this place as the cooler, international sibling of California!!

This glitzy resort town is considered a hot spot among the rich and famous, and boasts beachfront hotels that scream luxury, and a harbor so filled with yachts, you might mistake it for a parking lot! But who says you can’t enjoy it too?

Marbella has plenty to offer: culture, beaches, and delectable food. It’s southern Spain’s answer to St. Tropez, and an all-around winner for anyone looking to experience the good life!

Want to Know How To Get to Marbella Spain?

You’ve got a handful of airport options, but I personally recommend flying into the Málaga -Costa del Sol Airport. I found it to have more flight choices and it’s located just 35 minutes east of Marbella. Granada and Seville airports are also great options. Take a peek at some flight options here.

You can certainly book a tour from Málaga, but if you really want to make the most of your time in Southern Spain I highly recommend planning a cute little road trip using my guide here!

The truth is I searched high and low for some of the best hotels in Marbella, after all even a day trip in Marbella warranted a cute hotel. This Marbella hotel exceeded our expectations, like hands down one of our absolute favorite hotel stays EVER!!!

Our stay at the Hotel Claude Marbella was exceptional. The hotel is absolutely stunning and located in the heart of old town Marbella. The staff go above and beyond to make sure guests are taken care of. This boutique hotel gives off the sweetest luxury vibes with a side of Spanish charm.

And get this, we came back to our room after dinner to find PAJAMAS the hotel provided neatly folded on each side of our bed complete with slippers, chocolate and water bottles!! That alone speaks to the care staff takes to make sure guests are comfortable.

When you’re ready for a break, hit up one of the cafés or restaurants in the square for some local cuisine and prime people-watching. Discover Marbella’s Castle Walls!

Who doesn’t love a good excuse to see a castle…or at least what’s left of a castle.

Marbella’s castle walls, the “Murallas del Castillo,” are the OG fortifications dating back to Moorish rule in the 9th century. Talk about ancient history! These walls symbolize the city’s rich past and offer some seriously killer views of Marbella’s old town and the Mediterranean Sea. They’re a vital part of the city’s architectural landscape, serving as a reminder of Marbella’s diverse cultural heritage.

Check Out La Encarnacion Church and the Surrounding Area

This stunning architectural marvel, blending Renaissance and Baroque styles, will take your breath away.

Plus, it’s been a cultural landmark since the 17th century and boasts a wealth of religious art and artifacts. Whether you’re into history, spirituality, or just a little peace and quiet, La Encarnacion Church is a must-visit. And the surrounding area is worth a visit alone!!

If you are looking to squeeze in some high-end shopping or at least some window shopping, make your way to Puerto Banús!

This must-visit destination boasts all the glitz and glamour you could want, with luxury yachts, designer stores, and chic waterfront dining. Take a stroll along the promenade, admire the supercars, and indulge in some high-end shopping. At night, you’ll find trendy bars, clubs, and beach clubs that will keep you entertained.

Take Some Time to Chill at the Beach

Marbella, Spain, boasts some of the most beautiful beaches along the Costa del Sol, offering a perfect blend of golden sands, crystal-clear waters, and stunning coastal scenery.

Among the top beaches to visit in Marbella is Playa de la Fontanilla, located near the city center. This popular beach features fine sand and a range of facilities, including beach bars, restaurants, and water sports rentals, making it ideal for families and sun-seekers alike.

Another favorite is Playa de la Venus, known for its central location and lively atmosphere. Here, visitors can enjoy soft sands, calm waters, and a promenade lined with palm trees, perfect for leisurely walks or sunset strolls.

For those seeking a more secluded and upscale beach experience, Playa Nagüeles offers a tranquil retreat with pristine sands and clear waters, backed by lush vegetation and luxury beach clubs.
